Awareness Campaign on Water and Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection

Baghdad – June 3, 2026

On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, the Ibn Sina Center for E-Learning organized an awareness campaign titled “The Comprehensive Guide to Life Sustainability: Water and Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection.” The initiative was held as part of a series of events launched by the Women’s Affairs Unit during the month of June.

Campaign Highlights and Activities

Supervised by Assistant Lecturer Maryam Ali Matloub, the center’s Women’s Affairs liaison officer, the campaign featured the distribution of informative brochures highlighting the critical need for water and energy conservation and natural resource preservation in daily life.

Key activities included:

  • Practical Guidance: Providing actionable tips on optimizing water and electricity usage.

  • Eco-Friendly Practices: Promoting sustainable environmental behaviors that minimize waste and reduce pollution.

  • Workplace & Home Application: Encouraging staff to adopt eco-conscious habits across households, workplaces, and educational facilities.

Strategic Objectives

The campaign aimed to foster environmental awareness and build a culture of sustainability across the university community through responsible resource consumption. It sought to emphasize individual and collective accountability toward the environment, demonstrating how daily choices directly impact water and energy preservation, aligning with global sustainable development goals for a healthy and safe environment.

Impact and Community Engagement

The campaign concluded by underlining the importance of sustained educational efforts to embed sustainability values within the academic community. The event met with enthusiastic engagement from university personnel, who affirmed the necessity of continuing such initiatives to raise environmental consciousness and champion responsible stewardship of natural resources.
