The Avicenna E-Learning Center at the University of Baghdad held a workshop titled “Understanding Automation” on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, led by Agricultural Engineer Ayat Mahmoud Ibrahim.

     The workshop aimed to clarify the concept of automation and its significance across various sectors. The presenter highlighted the role of automation in accelerating processes, enhancing productivity, and minimizing human intervention in repetitive tasks. Automation was shown to improve operational efficiency within organizations, saving both time and costs.

     The session also explored the applications of automation in fields such as manufacturing, human resources, finance, and education, illustrating how organizations can leverage automation to streamline and expedite their operations. Key types of automation—fixed and variable—were discussed, with applications tailored to specific work needs.

     In closing, the presenter emphasized the importance of establishing a strong technical infrastructure to support automation and training personnel to manage these technologies. She stressed that automation is a foundational step toward advancing progress in various sectors of society.
