\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Avicenna Center for E-Learning organized a workshop titled “The Most Common Childhood Issues in Light of Technological Advancements,”<\/strong> presented by Inst. Hind Luay and Ms. Intisar Hussein on Monday, January 27, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The workshop aimed to highlight behavioral challenges faced by children due to their increasing engagement with digital environments and various technological applications, including smartphones, the internet, and electronic games. It also addressed how these tools influence children’s social and cultural values, emphasizing the need for greater attention from families and educational institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Discussions covered the psychological, social, cognitive, and physical effects of technology on children, such as heightened aggression and irritability, feelings of isolation, reduced social skills, and its impact on cognitive development and academic performance. Health concerns like eye strain and decreased physical activity due to excessive screen time were also examined.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The workshop concluded with a set of recommendations for parents and educators, emphasizing the importance of using child-safe applications, monitoring content, limiting internet usage, and educating children about the risks of interacting with strangers online. The session encouraged fostering children’s awareness of responsible and positive technology use.<\/span><\/p>\n
