Avicenna Center for E-Learning organized a workshop entitled
“E-Learning Platforms as a Tool to Enhance Awareness of the Risks of Extremism.”
The workshop, titled “E-Learning Platforms as a Tool to Enhance Awareness of the Risks of Extremism,” was delivered by Senior Engineer Ali Saif Al-Din Ubaid at our Center on Sunday, February 15, 2026.
It was held in person at the Electronic Computer Center Hall within the framework of cooperation between the two centers for the year 2025.
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of e-learning platforms in spreading intellectual awareness and promoting a culture of moderation.
It emphasized their role in protecting students from extremist ideas by providing solid academic content and reliable sources.
It also sought to demonstrate how the digital environment can be invested in building community awareness based on dialogue, tolerance, and acceptance of others, as well as enhancing learners’ critical thinking skills.
The workshop included an introductory presentation on e-learning platforms and their mechanisms of use in the educational process, along with practical examples of how they can be employed to promote concepts of moderation and balance.
It also addressed the most prominent risks of extremism in the digital space and ways to prevent it through electronic awareness and education.
In addition, recommendations were presented to strengthen Purposeful awareness content through these platforms.
The workshop concluded by emphasizing the necessity of activating the role of educational institutions in using digital platforms to spread positive awareness, and strengthening the partnership between family and school in monitoring online content.
The session was opened for discussion to answer participants’ questions, resulting in recommendations that support building a socially aware and intellectually resilient community.
