The Avicenna Center for E-Learning organized a workshop titled “The Role of Technology in Empowering Girls” on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, presented by Agricultural Engineer Ayat Mahmoud Ibrahim.
The workshop aimed to highlight the significance of empowering girls through digital technology, providing platforms for networking and communication that enhance their ability to face challenges and achieve financial and professional independence. It also discussed the role of technology in raising awareness of women’s rights and supporting their active participation in society.
The presenter emphasized the importance of bridging the digital gap that prevents many women from accessing opportunities offered by the digital world. Challenges such as cyber violence, discrimination, and image exploitation were addressed, along with a call to enhance awareness of women’s rights and provide safe and inclusive work environments.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Ayat urged for the establishment of policies that support digital empowerment for women. This includes offering training programs and developing innovative applications to assist women in accessing educational and professional opportunities, contributing positively to the advancement of society as a whole.
