The Avicenna Center for E-Learning organized a workshop titled “Children’s Rights and Their Application in Iraqi Law and Constitution”, presented by Ms. Intisar Hussein.
The workshop aimed to emphasize the importance of safeguarding childhood as a fundamental element in building a strong and cohesive society. It reviewed various Iraqi laws concerning children’s rights, including their rights to custody, care, education, and protection from violence and exploitation. The session highlighted existing legislation dedicated to protecting children’s rights in Iraq, discussing the extent of their application and their impact on children’s development and future security.
Ms. Intisar explained that Iraqi legislation underscores the significance of providing a dignified life for children by safeguarding their rights and preventing all forms of violence. She also outlined measures aimed at ensuring a safe and stable environment for children.
In conclusion, the presenter called for increasing community awareness about the importance of children’s rights and enforcing laws that protect them. She emphasized the need to promote legal literacy so that these rights become a tangible reality in society.
