Ass. Ins. Mariam Ali Matloub, the Women Empowerment Representative at the Avicenna Center for E-Learning, attended a meeting of the Women’s Affairs Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on Thursday, December 5, 2024, held in the Student Activities Department Hall.
The meeting was held to mark the appointment of Dr. Nada Al-Abadi as the new Director of the Women’s Affairs Department and was attended by representatives and coordinators of women’s empowerment units across the university’s institutions.
The meeting aimed to discuss the challenges and obstacles faced by women empowerment units within the ministry’s institutions. Dr. Nada exchanged ideas with attendees to identify effective solutions to these issues, enhancing the role of these units and ensuring they achieve their objectives.
Discussions also focused on preparations for celebrating Development and Innovation Day and International Women’s Day. Proposals were made for events that would highlight women’s achievements and promote their roles in higher education and societal development.
This meeting is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the position of women and support their contributions in academic and administrative fields.
