In line with directives from the Ministry of Interior and with the approval of the University President, the Avicenna E-Learning Center, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior’s Firearms Control and Regulation Division, held an awareness seminar titled “Registration of Light Firearms for Citizens and Purchase of Medium Weapons” on Monday, December 9, 2024.
The seminar aimed to curb the proliferation of unlicensed firearms in accordance with the governmental program announced by the Prime Minister.
The session was delivered by Lieutenant Colonel Salam Sadiq Maktoof, who detailed the mechanisms established to facilitate the firearms registration process. He provided participants with electronic registration links and explained the registration procedure step-by-step. Additionally, he highlighted the conditions and measures the Ministry of Interior plans to implement in future phases to ensure the success of this initiative.
The seminar witnessed strong engagement from attendees, with a Q&A session addressing citizens’ inquiries and emphasizing the importance of this initiative in enhancing community security and stability.
