The Avicenna E-Learning Center conducted a training course titled “Fundamentals of Computer Networks” from December 8 to 12, 2024, presented by Senior Engineer Luma Hassan Abdul Ameer.

     The course aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of computer networking principles and their role in information sharing and resource optimization, such as printers and storage devices. It emphasized the cost efficiency and improved communication and data management networks bring.

     The course covered network classification by geographical scope (LAN, MAN, WAN) and architectural design (star, ring, and bus networks). It also explored peer-to-peer and client-server relationships, equipping participants with a solid foundation in network types and applications.

     Additionally, the training included practical insights into key networking media, such as coaxial cables and fiber optics, with a comparative analysis of their advantages and disadvantages. This enabled participants to select the most suitable medium based on network requirements.
