Asst. Inst. Maryam Ali Matloub, Women’s Affairs Liaison at the Avicenna Center for E-Learning, attended a meeting organized by the Women’s Affairs Division, chaired by Ms. Asmaa Jalil. The meeting focused on planning the central celebration for International Women’s Day.
Discussions aimed to develop a comprehensive plan for the event, outlining activities and initiatives to highlight the role of women in academic institutions and society. Several proposals were put forward, including the formation of specialized committees: a central committee to oversee the celebration, a media committee to cover the event, and a reception committee to ensure smooth organization and guest management.
Additionally, unit representatives suggested activities such as: honoring outstanding female students, providing free medical check-ups for university service staff, showcasing success stories of female academics, and recognizing exceptional women in various fields.
The meeting also explored the idea of launching a weekly cultural program, with each week dedicated to a specific theme—such as Health Week, Legal Awareness Week, or Cultural Week—to raise awareness and offer valuable services to female staff and students.
