The Ibn Sina Center for E-Learning held a workshop entitled
“Machine Translation and Its Role in Enhancing E-Learning,”
presented by Assistant Lecturer & Translator Atoor Abbas Jassim, on Sunday, 17 November 2025, held in person at the Computer Center’s hall as part of the cooperation mechanism between the two centers for the year 2025.
The workshop aimed to highlight the role of AI-powered translation in improving the quality of digital content, facilitating interaction between students and the educational platform, and enhancing linguistic inclusiveness within educational institutions.
The workshop included an overview of the most prominent modern machine translation tools, an explanation of how AI language models operate, practical examples of integrating translation into educational platforms, as well as a discussion of challenges related to accuracy, cultural context, and methods to improve translation quality.
The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of integrating machine translation technologies into e-learning systems to enhance learning outcomes and ensure wider accessibility for learners, along with recommendations to train educational staff on using these technologies effectively.
